If you are interested in ordering a jersey or kit. Please comment or email for details! Thanks.
We’d love to hear from you. Ask us about riding and racing bikes at/for Loyola! And don’t forget …cross is coming!!
We have a new kit design and are planning a new kit order for 2016-7. The shorts will be simple black with “Loyola” on the panels. Please comment if you are interested!!
The last few weeks have seen the Loyola Cycling team racing at William and Mary, UNC/Duke and, close to home, in Hyattsville. Nate has been scoring some nice results in the elite A race–9th at the UNC road race and an impressive 3rd (PODIUM!!!) at the tough Hyattsville Crit. Jack and Ethan having been learning the ropes in the D race and Ethan scored an impressive top 10 finish in Hyattsville after just missing out on the winning break.
Nate’s race report for the 4/5 race:
Will managed to get 40th in his first race ever and I got 4th. We both started in the last row putting us at a big disadvantage to everyone else. I managed to fight my way to the front and quickly settled into the top 10. On the final lap I found myself in 5th place and on the final corner I was able to pass a Twenty20 racer on the line to get 4th. Overall it was a great day of racing and a great start to the cross season.
And later in the season Ethan raced his first CX at Biketoberfest getting a top 50% despite a mechanical . See his post-race interview.
Great news. Loyola Cycling has been approved as a club sport of 2015-16. This means that we will be able to race collegiately in the coming year. It also means that we might do another kit order.
We will definitely be racing on the road in the spring and might do some MTB or CX in the fall. If you are a student, contact us for more info. If you are interested in a kit, check this space again in the fall.
If MTB is your thing, check out the ACCC race schedule which includes a 9/13 race at the Moab of the Mid-Atlantic (Patapsco) hosted by UMBC.
Freshmen (and others), if you are interested in racing and riding with Loyola contact us. The road season is in the spring, but there is a great USA cycling cyclocross season in the Mid-Atlantic. I might even have a somewhat primitive loaner.
